Let’s clean up our environment, “Let’s clean up” at Grup Boix

On 28 April, a waste collection day, “Let’s Clean Up”, took place in the company’s surroundings.

The action is part of the European initiative “Let’s Clean Up Europe”, a common day throughout Europe to raise awareness of the amount of waste that is inappropriately dumped in the environment.

Before the activity began, the collection route was indicated, safety gloves and bags for waste collection were handed out.

The group of volunteers then walked around the company’s surroundings, observing and collecting all kinds of packaging, plastics, paper and other waste materials. In total, 30 kg of waste was collected, sorted and recycled.

The activity made the participants aware of the large amount of waste in nature or in urban areas. “I didn’t expect to collect so much packaging and plastic around our company”, says Salvi Balmaña, one of the volunteers and a Grup Boix employee.
